Pike Fishing Season

Pike anglers start the fishing season on 1st October and this takes place specifically on large glacial lakes and rivers on 14th March. They normally drop drastically in case there is spawning and that is around April; resuming again as from September. There are several considerations when fishing pikes. They include the following;

Pikes are delicate

Pikes naturally are delicate Whenever they are hooked their oxygen levels to go down They are then removed from their natural habitats ,hooks are removed from them,and weighed and their snaps are taken.A certain procedure should be followed when we are returning them to the water so that they can swim off comfortably.

Pikes are vulnerable

Summer season is normally characterized by low oxygen in many glasses of water. This makes the Pikes more vulnerable and especially to stress.Pike anglers have to wait until first of October to commence their work.

Presence of glacials

It is true to say that glacials exist. This constrains the pike anglers who may intend to fish the pikes. The waters may actually too long to warm up and the desired warm temperatures that are ideal for fishing may not be a reality. This will make the pike anglers to engage in other endeavors that are more profitable to cover up for the time glaciers will be melting away.

Pikes are the largest of the freshwater predators and are ample in all Irish watercourses from small to large loughs as well as canals and rivers Pikes are opportunistic feeders and prey on small fodder fish for example eels, hybrids, roach, and rudd. Ireland has quality pike fishing to offer the visiting angler and a supporting tourist infrastructure which will enable somebody to catch that pike of a lifetime.

Pike angling guides and boat hire services are always available in all major pike waters at low cost. This will indeed attract many pike anglers who normally target Ireland because of its huge network of pike lakes.
