Outdoors is the place to be

 

Just recently Cabela’s mentioned 5 reasons to go outside. But, in today’s society of television and the internet, people feel it is important to ignore the outdoors because they can get everything they need from these two instruments of influence and stay inside. So what do we do?  the reasons why we venture outdoors is simple. It’s the beauty and wonder of nature and the feeling that is received when we look and feel the sunrise or sunset. My question is, what is good about sitting and watching TV or playing a game on the internet or game box?  I am sure it is not good for the body and no matter what you watch or do. I’m sure it is not good for the soul or peace of mind. If we as outdoor people not only agree with Cabelas we do our best to go outside and take as many folks as we can. I guess its like a religion of some sort because when the outdoors can give a person peace of mind and it fills the soul with life then we want people to experience all its glory.  Please let us know your thoughts below.

  1. Going outside is strongly linked to reduced stress.  –  OMG how true this is! imagine walking in the morning sun, smelling the fresh air and listening to birds sing or sitting near a steam or river watching and listening to the water taking in the sun. I know it sounds corny but it is real and then the stress will be gone!
  2. Spending time in nature helps strengthens your ability to concentrate. – There is a truth to the “feeling” that your mind benefits from nature. How can it not? is the question!  to those of us who have a spiritual connection to the outdoors it seems like there’s nothing like the outdoors to be closer to the creator/nature. To concentrate is to use the mind and so many say, “mind over matter”  we here this phrase in all the survivor shows now a days.

    So those folks do use their mind to concentrate and to obtain a level of commitment to complete their journey.

  3. Sunshine helps produce vitamin D which is good for bone and cell health.-  This is a scientific fact folks in the end the body benefits from the sun, enough said.
  4.  It helps energizes white blood cells which helps fights virus;s and decease-  Like we mentioned in # 3 the sun and the outdoors does a body good.
  5. Last but not Least is  “FUN” this of course is an subjective opinion, but it is affirmed by years and years of field research. Yes affirmed by millions of people all over the world.  being outdoors is and enjoying what is given by God / nature,  what ever way you look at it we should be grateful and realize one thing,  we are blessed!
